Counselling

Many people will, at some point in their lives, find themselves in the role of a counsellor without having a true understanding of the concept of counselling or what the role of the professional counsellor entails.

There is a big difference between a professional counsellor and a person who uses some counselling skills as part of their role, for example their role as a friend or colleague. A professional counsellor is a highly trained individual who is able to use a different range of counselling approaches with their clients.

Adoloscent Counselling

Adolescent counselling is counselling aimed at young people to help them make sense of their feelings, behaviors and thoughts. We help them understand their biological and psychological changes and also help parents to raise their teenagers without any distress. This entails the use of unique techniques that draw out the expressive nature of a young person. This form of counselling is important in helping guiding kids transitioning into adulthood and to understand themselves better.

Relationship Counselling

Relationship counseling is the process of counseling the parties of a human relationship in an effort to recognize, and to better manage or reconcile, troublesome differences and repeating patterns of stress upon the relationship. The relationship involved may be between members of a family or a couple, employees or employers in a workplace, or between a professional and a client.

Behavioural Counselling

As its name suggests, behavioural therapy is focused on human behaviour and looks to eradicate unwanted or maladaptive behaviour. Typically this type of therapy is used for those with behavioural problems or mental health conditions that involve unwanted behaviour. Examples of this include addictions, anxiety, phobias and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
Behavioural therapy believes that behaviour is learned and can therefore be un-learned via therapy.

Fitness Counselling

Fitness counselling helps you gain insight into issues which directly affect your success with a fitness program. Counselors can suggest proven strategies for many common challenges that people face when they begin a fitness program. A counselor might help you to set realistic fitness and weight loss goals, help you find motivation to exercise, help you develop strategies to stick to your exercise program, and help you confront any habits which may get in the way of your success. Emotional health is just as important as the physical health, because the emotions have to be well managed to have the mental toughness to endure, and achieve ones fitness goals.
